Why is a Cystoscopy Injection Required?

Cystoscopy injection is a minimally invasive operation to deliver Botox® into the bladder wall for treating Overactive Bladder (OAB) and Neurogenic Detrusor Overactivity (NDO).

When the patient is treated with Botox for OAB, the surgeon uses a small telescope called a cystoscope to look inside the bladder, and usually injects 100 units (10 mL) as 20 intradetrusor injections of 0.5 mL each. It takes about 20 minutes to complete the operation. Based on the surgeon’s recommendation, the procedure can be done under local or general anesthesia.
